Our sports programs for children focus on the development of healthy lifestyles, the valuse of cooperation and fair play, the involvement of parents in a positive support roles, and individual children rather than the sport. Our coaches and leaders assure that the programs are developmentally appropriate, contribute to the YMCA goals for children and families, and reflect the organization's mission that everyone, regardless of sex, race, national origin, religion, or physical ability, is welcome to participate.

Tennis

T-Ball

Located at North Centennial Ball field

Open to youth ages 3-5

Mondays & Wednesdays, June 16 - July 30

Practices will be held on Monday nights and will include the teaching of the basics of baseball. Kids will be given lots of practice to learn on their own in drills along with the guidance from the Sport Coordinator and volunteer parent coaches. 

Games will be on Wednesday nights. The first game will be at 5pm and the second game at 6pm depending on the number of players. Everyone will bat every inning. Players will rotate in the field to play all the positions. The number of innings will be based on the amount of time. The focus of this league is to learn the basics of the game and to have fun! 

Pee Wee Baseball

Located at North Centennial Ball field

Open to youth ages 6-9

Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 17 - July 31

Practice
This program will teach the game of baseball. Including proper mechanics of catching, throwing, hitting, and fielding along with some in-game scenarios to teach knowledge of the game. The kids will be given lots of practice to learn on their own in drills along with guidance from the Sport Coordinator and volunteer parent coaches. Pitching will also be taught, as learning to pitch from an early age is huge for the development of baseball players, and essential to a winning team.

Games
The games will be on Thursday nights at 5. The games will be coach pitch to start the year and will progress to possibly allow some players to pitch based on their ability to throw strikes at practice.
